HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME & A GIVE AWAY!!!!!

For mother’s day, along with a motorcycle ride and dinner out I picked up a cold somewhere.
All last week I laid around and did most of nothing. I did manage to reverse sew the 120 blocks I had started for my pineapple quilt though. I also found out that the reason my blocks were not turning out is because the center square was not square and re-cut another batch. (Sorry still feeling not well so no pics.)

Monday I was able to really look at this job I have on my table. The piece is 8’ by 4’ and came out of our local library.

A patron got angry for being told to leave the library, and on his way out decided to ‘head-but’ the panel.

See all the little black marks? Those are some of the broken pieces. Has anyone heard of this Knight? I looked all over and couldn't find him.
I must tell you I totally rebuilt this same panel 2 years ago….these knight’s are coming back to haunt me!!! I really did talk nice to them the first time….

I was feeling so poorly yesterday I went to the doctor. Turns out I have bronchitis. No wonder I didn’t feel good! And yes as luck would have it I get this right before my BIG birthday, Sat. I am still planning on going to Knoble's www.knoebels.com for the rides!

Today I met with another glass professional about a repair I have to do, see a previous post.

I was explaining to him that the windows needed to be removed from the outside. He was shocked I had suggested that way of window removal stating “in my 40+ years of stained glass repair, I have never removed windows from the outside.” Let me just say I felt pretty good when after he looked at the windows he said "well I’ll be, I have never seen this before.” He did go onto say that the windows were made at the height of the stained glass movement BEFORE Tiffany, just at the beginning of the Victorian Age. (If you have the ability to zoom in you can see the slight squiggle lines in the 'sun bursts'.)

Now because I am feeling (like crap) pretty good about my removal method, and it is my birthday on Sat. I am having a giveaway! To win become a follower, and post a comment. As for my followers, just leave a comment.
The winner will be chosen May 31st. Good Luck!

I Apologize!

Let me apologize to Gyleen X. Fitzgerald for misspelling her name in my previous post, I am so sorry.
I did sign up for her summer camp because I really like the way she teaches: http://www.colourfulstitches.com Check it out.
She is the reason I am making a pineapple quilt (as if the 3500+ pieces for the wedding ring are not enough in my life...).

Because I don’t want to take the time to read, nor time to do so, I just finished listening to ‘One Tuesday Morning’ by Karen Kingsbury. It is a must read/listen but I will warn you to have your tissues handy!!

I won! I entered the Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Blog Tour and I was one of the lucky ones! I just got my package today.  I really like the ‘I’m Sew Happy’ block in the accompanying magazine even though it is hard to see but trust me it's cute. I will definitely add it to my list. This might even make a cute mug rug Christmas gift….hummm

I hope you all had a very Happy Mother’s Day. I went to see my younger son Sat.

Got my hair done but the best part was I got to see my Jellie!
See how Cute!!!

My older granddaughter’s (Doodles) boyfriend’s prom was Sat. night.
Cute again!!! More like sooo pretty! I liked to have fainted when she told me what the dress cost! Whatever happened to the old days when either you made your dress or went to a bargain store?
Ahh the olden days…

I made the cemetery arrangements on Thurs.

Again I do not have enough fabric for the next quilt I am working on. (Nothing new in my world.)  I am making a ‘controlled scrappy’ pineapple quilt as stated at the beginning of this post (Gyleen's fault). The black is my 'control' but these two blacks are just too different for the look I was going for. See how the bottom one is lighter than the top? Not that it matters that I have already  been sewing on the center blocks, did I mention 120 blocks?!?

Top fabric is darker.
So I am either re-cutting the center blocks or reverse sewing.

More than likely I will be reverse sewing. After all Jack (the ripper) is my friend!
Because my work is rather slow right now, I am getting to cut the  fabric for the pineapple quilt (all but the black).
I have so many odd fabric pieces I started cutting them. What am I saving them for? (The paper towel roll is just to give you a gauge of how high the fabric is in the bag, there are two piles in there.)

That little bag holds the fabric and some center blocks for 120 blocks…(minus the black of which I have to purchase enough of to make a queen size. I am repeating this to get it into my head not to start a quilt until ALL the  fabric is in my possession.).

I repaired a lamp.

I repaired a broken piece of glass in a local church.

Obviously before repair.

Thanx for stopping by! Please be sure to check out Gyleen's site and consider signing up for her Summer Camp!
