Thank you so much for taking your time and energy, along with all that helped, to put on this big event! I was able to grow mine by 95%! Thank you for all that joined me. (It might be more because I still do not understand Bloglovin’ (sorry you guys) but I also thank you too!)
I spent all day Sunday surfing all the sites. I joined a bunch of them, some because I liked what I saw, I liked who they followed, or they needed followers.

I am participating in OPAM (One Project A Month) that I am hoping will help me to finish all the projects I have started in various stages of completion. See the button on the sidebar. The look of this button might change but the rules are still the same.

I finished the stained glass repair I started last week. I thought this was going to be a simple fix because there was a crack through 2 pieces. When I started repairing it I noticed the glass the customer brought me for the repair was a different texture so I had to take the whole panel apart and rebuild it with that glass.

 

I had my 90 day evaluation this week. I think I’ve been out of the work force way too long as I found it to be a how can I say…waste of my time?!? Other then my boss writing words on paper as to my job performance and saying I’m doing a good job, there was no raise! What, no compensation for slave labor??? Oh well, at least it gives me something to do…

 

I have not bought fabric softener for quite some time. Instead, I wad up about 2 feet of tin foil (I have 3 balls) and throw it in the dryer. I don’t know how it works but it softens the fabric without chemicals and helps to relieve some of the static. When they start to wear out  (you can tell because you will start getting pieces of foil that come off the ball) I just replace it with new ones.

Good Morning! 

I have 19 followers (I thank each and every one of you!) and would like to have you and many more followers so I am taking part in this year's Grow Your Blog Party. This event helps introduce bloggers to each other and is hosted by

I  am hoping this will help me grow my blog plus I will have the added benefit of meeting others and sharing their interests.

I started a stained glass business in TN in 1991 and when I moved up to PA in 2000 I continued it…until my husband Larry (Lar) retired last Oct. 

Because of this, I had to get a job with benefits.  

I now work at the local college, or should I say I slave at the local college. I am a cook and my 90 day evaluation is on Monday. I will be asking for hazard pay! 

Burns on arm almost healed.

(This is the least gross picture to show. I have a new burn on my chin I got on Friday and am black and blue on both arms and legs.)
I would like to go elsewhere for the money but the perks of working at the college are great. Work 6 weeks, have off a week, work 2 weeks, have off a month, etc. I work 6am.-2pm. Monday through Friday and have off all major holidays. Should I go to work waiting tables knowing I will have to work nights, weekends, and holidays???

My first passion is stained glass. I have been working in this medium for over 30 years. I am closing my studio and in the course of cleaning and packing I found my first project, a lamp (it was a kit) my brother gave me as a Christmas gift. I did put it together once but through all my moves it was damaged so now I am in the process of putting it back together. It is one of my first stained glass pieces I made and was the project that made me want to do stained glass.

 

I have many craft interests: sewing, quilting, painting, jewelry making, knitting, crocheting, just to name a few. I like to bake making my own bread about every other week, and I can and preserve in summer. 

I am married (obviously), have 4 sons, (I usually write about my 2 sons), 4 grandchildren (again my 3).

I started blogging in Oct 2010 but got so frustrated (I have a lot of issues with computers) that I gave up time and again. I decided to give it an honest try this time and hopefully with this Grow Your Blog and your help I will succeed!

 A great tip for sore throats and colds: 

My cup at home, just a demo.

I had a little scratchy throat the other day at work and was afraid I was getting "IT"! 

Bobby; the pizza girl, mixed me up a cup of this:

Hot water, lemon juice, cinnamon, honey, and white vinegar!

My soar throat was gone within 5 minutes!!!

It Really Works!

(She said sometimes it takes up to an hour). Thank goodness it didn't for me.

My first finish(es) for the year!

I finished 2 throws I had started as an on line 'class' last summer! Yeah!!!! I signed up for a Summer Camp given by Gyleen Fitzgerald: www.colourfulstitches.com.



(Both backings for these throws look very similar, in fact when I wrote the 'label' on the blocks they were positioned the same.)


I learned I am not too thrilled with doing a mystery quilt because (after the fact) I like to see what pattern I am making before I put all that work into it. On top of things, I made 2 because when I cut out the first one I didn't care too much for the color of the center block, not pizzazzy enough, so I cut out another one. However, this will work  because I have 2 sons and I will give the each one a throw for their cars as Christmas gifts. If I get the gumption, I will make some sort of case for them. I usually make the throw into a 'Quillow' but did not feel like doing that this time. I might change my mind, I have a little time yet...

How many times has this happened to you? You would think by now I would not do this, but every once in a while it happens to me. I am quilting along and notice I have run out of backing!!! Thankfully this throw is meant to be used: grass, dirt, football game bleacher padding, etc., so I was not upset. I just sewed extra fabric where needed and kept on quilting.
This only happened on one of the throws as I made sure the second one was positioned properly!

I have been repairing a stained glass lampshade at the shop. I want to fix it before I close...hopefully in two months...It is the same lamp my brother gave to me as a kit 30+ years ago; a Christmas gift, and through all my moves it got damaged. I boxed it up the last time I moved and intended to fix it 'someday'. Well that 'someday' is now. (Pictures will be forthcoming.)

Theory: the longer it takes to close the shop, the more I have to pay in rent.

 

I start back to work Monday. Honestly I am excited to go back to work after being off a month. It seems the days fly by when I am there and in no time it will be Christmas! (Good thing I started on my Christmas gifts....)

   Again such an easy thing, but it took me a while until I finally started putting a cover over my drinks! I was shocked to see what I had been consuming and if you are not putting some sort of lid on your drinks, you are ingesting something similar....

No, this is not meant to be a Fuzzy Navel!
